Barça win Group D after scoreless draw against Juventus.

JUVE FCB 17-18

FC Barcelona played to a scoreless draw in Italy against Juventus. This result meant that the Blaugrana will advance to the UEFA Champions League knockout stages as group winners. For the first time in a long time, Lionel Messi was left on the bench as his side kicked off without him. After a cagey first half, Messi came in right before the hour mark but neither side would score the decisive goal. Barcelona actually failed to register a shot on target. Nonetheless, this result meant the final group stage against Sporting will not matter as they ensured they finished in first place in their group. Barça will now shift their attention to this weekend’s big league match when they travel to face second place Valencia on Sunday.
