Barça battle Atletico Madrid for a 1-0 victory.

Barça solidified their league leading position following today’s 1-0 victory over Atletico Madrid. This hard fought contest was decided by Messi in the 24th minute courtesy of a sublime free kick goal in front of him over 90,000 fans at the Camp Nou. That goal was Messi’s 600th career goal for club and country.  This milestone goal was enough to ensure Barça extended their lead atop of the league standings to eight points clear of Atletico Madrid.

The one sour note for Barcelona fans was the early substitution of Andres Iniesta  in the first-half was the loss of Andres Iniesta, after suffering what appeared to be a hamstring injury. Next up for the Blaugrana will be a league trip to Andalusian country to face Malaga on Saturday.
