Messi came on as a substitute in the 57th minute and Barça fought back when Suarez scored a superb acrobatic volley in the 88th minute and less than 60 seconds later, Messi, scored an unforgettable equalizer from the edge of the box, and past Sergio Rico to stun Sevilla and their fans. This result meant the Blaugrana can match the league unbeaten record of 38, held by Real Sociedad, against Leganes next weekend. Barça will now shift their attention to this Wednesday’s Champions League Quarter-Final first leg against Roma.
