Barça exact revenge as they hammer Levante 5-0.

FC Barcelona traveled to Valencia today and defeated Levante 5-0 to remain league leaders. This result also meant that the Blaugrana exacted revenge for Levante ending their unbeaten run, a 5-4 away loss in the same stadium, in the league last season. Messi’s hat-trick and two assists paved the way as Barça kept their lead at the top of the table by remaining three points clear of both second placed Sevilla and third placed Atletico Madrid.

Messi helped break the deadlock with a superb assist that resulted in Luis Suárez scoring a great volley in the 34th minute. Messi then scored the Blaugrana’s second goal in the 43rd minute. Two minutes into the second half, Messi ended any hopes of Levante making a comeback and then grabbed his hat-trick at the hour mark before assisting Piqué to obtain the “Manita”. Messi now has 14 goals for the season, which makes the league’s top scorer.
