FC Barcelona returned to the Champions League Semi-Finals since 2015 after their 3-0 victory over Manchester United and 4-0 defeat on aggregate. Lionel Messi’s first half brace propelled the Blaugrana when he scored his first goal in the 15th minute after he cut across the edge of the box before sending his fine low effort past De Gea and into the bottom corner. This was Messi’s first goal at this stage since 2013. Four minutes later, Messi grabbed his second goal of the evening, and his 24th goal against an English slide, after his effort from outside the box slipped under De Gea to make it 2-0. The final goal of the evening came after the hour mark courtesy of a long-range effort from Philippe Coutinho that all but sealed United’s fate. Barça will have two weeks before the meet the winner of Liverpool Porto tie which Liverpool currently are leading based on a 2-0 aggregate. Barça will now shift their attention to this Saturday’s clash at home against Real Sociedad.
