FC Barcelona kicked off their 2019-2020 season with a late minute loss to hosts Athletic Bilbao. Barça paid the price for not converting their chances in this game as Aritz Aduriz’s late amazing scissor kick gave Athletic Bilbao a 1-0 victory over the Blaugrana on as the Spanish league kicked off today. This was the first the defending league champions had dropped their opening league fixture since 2008-2009 season. Barcelona played this game without Messi and had to deal with another injury as Luis Suárez limped off in the first half with a calf injury.
